Here is some exciting news regarding the 19th Annual Charity Challenge benefiting the Arkansas Crisis Center, Crisis Center Foundation and scholarships for NWA graduating seniors:

1.) Lindsay Davenport will be attending as a Celebrity Tennis Pro this year! This will be Lindsay’s first time attending the Charity Challenge and we are thrilled to have her attend our tennis event.  A short bio about Lindsay is below:

Lindsay Ann Davenport (born June 8, 1976 in Palos Verdes, California) is a former World No. 1 American professional tennis player. She has won three Grand Slam singles tournaments and an Olympic gold medal in singles. In 2005, TENNIS Magazine ranked her as the 29th-best player of the preceding forty years. She is one of only four women (the others being Steffi Graf, Martina Navratilova, and Chris Evert) since 1975 who has been the year-end World No. 1 at least four times. Davenport finished 1998, 2001, 2004, and 2005 as the top ranked player.

2.) Linda Hefner, EVP and Chief Merchandising Officer, Sam’s Club,  has agreed to be the Honorary Co-Chair with Jack Sinclair, EVP,  Grocery Division, Wal-Mart US.

3.) An updated list of Wal-Mart executive attendees and their participation in the 19th Annual Charity Challenge of Champions events is attached.

4.) Additional confirmed Celebrity Tennis Pros for 2010 are: Cliff Drysdale, Murphy Jensen and Justin Gimelstob. The remaining 6 tennis pros are still being confirmed.

5.) 2010 is the 25th Anniversary of the Arkansas Crisis Center. We have some exciting events in store and some exciting changes to the event locations: The Thursday Night VIP Dinner will be held at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse in Rogers and the Saturday Night Sponsor Recognition Party will be held at Eddie Haskell’s in Rogers.

6.) We have added an additional advertising opportunity for our top sponsors by including advertising for them in our Golf Scorecard Booklet as a sponsorship benefit. We have also invited Sean “The Beast” Fister of Little Rock, to attend our golf tournament this year. Sean’s bio is below:

He is a former world class pole vaulter at 17’7″. He is the oldest to win the Championship in history at 43 yrs and the only American to win the WLDC 3 times.

He has played with President of the United States…Bill Clinton, Arnold Palmer, Michael Jordan, Bo Jackson, and Tiger Woods among countless other celebrities and sports legends, lending humorous experiences, and unique lessons to share with others.
