Victory Theater Dedication Ceremony and Open House
Patrons, donors and members of the Rogers Little Theater board of directors gathered at Victory Theater April 19 to celebrate the completion of the organization’s 2008 capital campaign. RLT board of producers chairman Ed McClure said the “low key event” was a way to honor those that have helped the non-profit group reach its goal.
The capital campaign was RLT’s plan to raise about $2 million to pay off its financial obligations on Victory Theater. Donors included banks, individuals and the Walton Family Foundation.The event began with a reception and was followed by a short program in the theater.
Guest speakers included RLT board of directors president Rusty Turner, Mayor Steve Womack and past RLT board of directors president Dick Barclay. Rev. Pamela Cicini offered an invocation, Father Mike Sinkler led a blessing and benediction and RLT capital campaign chairman Rob Brothers shared his favorite memories of the theater. After examining the past, he the discussed moving forward and said “it’s time for a whole new chapter.”
The immediate future includes the 2009-2010 season. McClure announced next year’s schedule includes performances of “The Miracle Worker,” “It Runs in the Family,” “Quilters” and “Love Letters.”
