Presented with the Will Golf 4 Kids Charity Golf Tournament, and benefiting the Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the Color of Hope Charity Gala is co-chaired by Steve and Lori Collins. This year’s Gala is Friday night, August 12, from 5:30-11pm at the John Q. Hammons Center in Rogers. Each year, a new “Color of Hope” is chosen for guests to wear. This year’s color: Chocolate!

For tickets and more information on the golf tournament and gala, visit http://www.willgolf4kids.org.

What inspired you both to create a signature event, Color of Hope?

Our desire to increase the monies raised for Arkansas Children’s Hospital and the children it serves; creating a social event seemed like the most logical step to accomplish this.

What are you most looking forward to about this year’s Color of Hope Gala?

Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate!!  And the energy & enthusiasm of the community coming together to support such a great cause.

What are a few of the Auction items you’re most excited about?

Some of the LIVE auction items we’re excited about are…..5 nights in Cabo in the Tyson homes; Miraval Spa in Arizona (Oprah’s choice of spas); Caneel Bay in St. John; St. Andrews in Scotland; & the Super Bowl to name just a few.

What is your vision for Color of Hope in the coming years?

To continue to provide one of the premier social events in NWA enabling neighbors to help neighbors.

What is the most rewarding part of seeing Color of Hope come to completion each year?

The awe of 1200 people gathering together generously giving to the children of Arkansas.   We are humbled each year by NWA’s generosity & the monies raised.

How long have you lived Northwest Arkansas?

We moved here in July 2005 so 6 years.

What is your favorite part of living in this area?

The uniqueness of this community, & it’s giving back to so many.  It offers everyone the opportunity to become involved with a cause that they are passionate about.

Besides attending the Color of Hope Gala, on your website there are various ways that people can volunteer to help. Can you tell us about those needs and where the greatest need for people to serve would be?

Our greatest need is people’s continued participation through corporate sponsorship, hosting tables, & supporting our auctions & donation drive.

Last year’s Gala was such a success! What are your hopes for this year’s Gala?

We want people to have fun, help us raise more money than last year & for people to leave buzzed about next year & the newly chosen color that will represent HOPE.
