This past Saturday, January 5, Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Benton County hosted its Annual Award Ceremony at the Shewmaker Center in Rogers, where over $180,000 was awarded to 150 single parent students. Students also had the opportunity to attend workshops, staffed by alumni and volunteers, that focused on helping them be successful in school and in pursuing careers after graduation.  The goal of SPSF/BC is to help single parents gain the education they need to become self-sufficient.  To qualify for the program single parents must live in Benton County, have custody of one or more children, be low income and enrolled in a qualified school.
