Tyson Foods, Inc. is recognized as one of the largest food companies in the world, but its philanthropic involvement is just as notable. Tyson has long been a champion of efforts to end hunger with the help of partnerships with hunger relief organizations, including Share Our Strength and Feeding America.

As of 2015, Tyson donated more than 100 million pounds of protein for hunger and disaster relief in America since 2000. To celebrate this achievement, Tyson donated over 2 million pounds of chicken to the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank. According to food banks nationwide, meat is among the most requested and least available food.

Among other initiatives, Tyson created the KNOW Hunger campaign in early 2011 to raise awareness of hunger in America and encourage the public to get involved with relief efforts in their communities. As part of the campaign, last September Tyson announced its plan to pledge $50 million through cash and in-kind donations from 2015 to 2020 for the fight against hunger.
