Washington Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) will host its 11th Annual Tour of Homes on Saturday, May 10 from noon to 5p.m. Tickets purchased prior to the event are $20 and are available at Washington Elementary School (WES) school office or locally through area merchants French Metro Antiques, The Gift House, or the Downtown Bank of Fayetteville.

“This fundraiser is an important event as it links the community and the school together while providing area residents with a glimpse in to some of the most beautiful and often historic homes in our school district,” explained event chair Melissa Werner.

Tickets can also be purchased the day of the event at any of the seven homes participating in the self-guided tour. Event day tickets are $25. Homes represent architectural periods spanning the early-1930s through present and showcase period homes to modern condominiums. The tour includes:

  • 503 E. Prospect Street – Exterior Designer Daniel Keeley of DK Designs
  • 531 N. Sequoyah Drive – The Lefler-Noll House
  • 426 N. Highland Avenue – Aaron and Ashley Bernstein
  • 507 N. Park Avenue – Suzannah M. Garrison
  • 609 W. Dickson Street #901 – Dr. and Mrs. Michael Liggett
  • 609 W. Dickson Street #905 – Todd and Kristie Ross

French Metro Antiques located at 200 W. Dickson Street will be hosting a reception and serving refreshments during the tour.

“At Washington Elementary, we don’t send children out to ‘sell.’ Instead, we focus on those events that connect our school with our community,” Washington Elementary Principal Ashley Garcia said. “Proceeds from this event serve to help the school with items not on the current budget.”

In fact, past TOH funds have helped build a climbing wall for the gym, update the music room and provide important and nutritious snacks for the various after school programs.

A recent focus of the school’s PTO has been on technology and equipping the school with the technology necessary for the instruction of the students.
