Debutantes with Ronetta Francis, President of Phi Alpha Omega Chapter, and Cora B. Davis, President of Tea Rose Foundation

More than 110 guests attended the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Tea Rose Foundation of Northwest Arkansas’ fourth biennial Debutante Presentation and Ball. It was a black tie event held on March 8 at the Holiday Inn in Springdale. This years’ Debutantes included Miss Dana Francis of Rogers, Miss Catherine Pippins-Taylor of Springdale, Miss Peyton Taylor of Bentonville, and Miss Maxine Williams of Rogers.

The program included a serenade by Mr. Leon Higgins and a beautiful waltz choreographed by Mr. Jerry Kendrick of Dance and Swing executed by the Debutantes, their fathers and escorts.

Scholarships awarded included : 2013 Polished Pearl Award – Miss Catherine Pippins-Taylor, $500.00; highest G.PA.- Miss Maxine Williams, $500.00;  2014 Miss Debutante, Miss Dana Francis and Miss Peyton Taylor, tied and each awarded $1,000.00.
