Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter (NWACS) is thrilled to announce a new era for the organization today with a new name and a renewed vision for the future. Founded more than 30 years ago, Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter is embarking on a bold new journey that builds on its continued commitment to and expanded services for the children and families of Arkansas under the new name EverHope.

Since its inception by Benton County Juvenile Court Judge Terry Crabtree three decades ago, the organization has supported more than 13,300 Arkansas children in crisis, providing them a community where they have found protection and comfort and can take the first steps toward healing.

The new name, EverHope, reflects the organization’s belief in every child’s potential and their right to a future filled with possibilities. During the strategic planning process, four Threads of Hope were developed: Strengthen, Support, Shelter, and Stabilize. These four threads position the organization as a statewide partner dedicated to building a fabric of care that strengthens children, families, and the systems around them.

The new name and brand, EverHope, captures that evolution.

“EverHope is more than a name; it’s a promise. A promise that every child in Arkansas deserves not just safety, but enduring hope and a future filled with possibility,” said Rebekah Mitchell, CEO. “For more than 30 years, we’ve stood beside children in crisis, and today, that commitment grows even stronger as we expand our services and deepen our mission to provide stability, support, and healing that lasts.”

As the new brand is unveiled, the organization remains grounded in what has always defined it: the Children’s Shelter. EverHope represents the Shelter and the full continuum of care they provide to support Arkansas children at each stage of their journey, including newly launched and expanded services:
•   EverHope Foster Care: Recruits and prepares foster families through licensing, training, and support to provide safe, stable homes for children.
•   EverHope School Project: A trauma-responsive education partnership that equips schools to foster resilience, connection, and positive learning environments for students and families.
•   EverHope Path to Adulthood (exploration stage): A developing initiative to strengthen life skills, stability, and connection for youth in foster care as they move toward adulthood.

Every child deserves long-term stability, trusted relationships, and hope for the future. EverHope is committed to providing new and existing services to children across Arkansas. To learn more about EverHope or to donate, please visit everhope.org.
