Join us on Wednesday, March 16 at 8:00 a.m. to reconnect with other Benton county nonprofit executives.

We’ve invited Kasie Yokley and Leslie Zanoff from 3W Magazine to join us and share information on the fantastic calendar of nonprofit events offered on their website, which serves as an excellent clearinghouse and checkpoint for regional nonprofit galas and events.

We’ll meet at the Center for Nonprofits at St. Mary’s (1200 West Walnut in Rogers) in the large meeting room on the south end of the building from the lobby (the former cafeteria).  See you then!

*Personal note: I’ve missed seeing you all and apologize I disappeared longer than intended into mommy land!  Baby Ainsley is now just over four months old – thanks for the well wishes.  Looking forward to seeing you all again at our next gathering!  ~Beth

What is the Benton County Nonprofit Alliance?

What:
The Benton County Nonprofit Alliance (BCNA), is an informal monthly gathering of nonprofit executive directors for pure information sharing and communication. No programs, no continuing education, no elected officers, assignments, committees or agendas. Just open lines of communication among nonprofit directors.

Who:
Any Benton county nonprofit agency executive director. Development directors have AFP, marketers have PRSA – this is for directors to share updates and connect. We have wonderful resources available to us such as the Center for Nonprofits, the United Way and the Community Foundation, but it is important that this group not fall under any one organization’s umbrella or become exclusive. It should be for all of us, by all of us. Just let us know if someone isn’t in the loop!

Why:
Because we spend too much time worrying about issues at hand and competing (often without knowing it) and not enough time collaborating, sharing best practices, jointly pursuing grants, recommending resources and bouncing gala dates off one another so as not to compete – let’s advance and support everyone doing this important community work!

What else:
We will keep the focus on monthly meetings to share information – come when you can, don’t worry when you can’t. LinkedIn will serve as our listserve so that when you want to bounce a question off another exec or vet your major event date, you have an easy resource to do so. We plan to collaborate with 3W Magazine as the go-to resource for nonprofit event dates and related information.

Format:
A simple, regular monthly meeting. The format will always be round-robin introductions, a brief update from each agency represented, mention of any upcoming events and discussion of challenges and best practices. That’s it! If the above items take just 20 minutes, that leaves 40 minutes for networking and collaborating. We’re committed to one hour, once a month.
