Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Arkansas will be special guests at a private performance of A Christmas Carol Today, on Thursday, December 6, 7:30 p.m. A Christmas Carol Today, written and directed by Ed McClure, will feature the beloved story, made relevant in modern times, with modern music and references creating a moving and magical family entertainment which will become a holiday tradition.

Ryan Collins, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Community Development Council member said, “We are attempting to bring more events to Benton County, and to the performing arts side of our ‘art’ activities. I thought, “What better place than the Rogers Little Theater?” This would be a great way to get some kids interested in the youth program the theater has as well. Most of these kids rely on the Bigs to take them to movies, ball games, or even a restaurant so I thought this was another avenue or option that could be opened for the kids that normally would never attend a play outside of elementary school, and may have some interest.”

“This would be a perfect youth oriented event. The cast is half adults and half children. The show touches on issues of absentee fathers (modern day Scrooge) and features well-known pop music,” said Ed McClure.

A Christmas Carol Today performances will be December 7-9, 13-16, Thursday – Saturday, 8 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m. Tickets are available at www.RogersLittleTheater.org. Dinner seating is $45, balcony seating is $16 for adults, $10 for students. A Christmas Carol Today is presented by Mercy Northwest Arkansas and Mercy Health Foundation.
