Botox is a neuromodulator that helps relax the muscles that are causing wrinkles due to animation. The most common areas we treat with Botox are the 11 lines between the eyebrows, forehead lines and crow’s feet around the eyes. It’s a common misconception that Botox will freeze your face. When done by an experienced injector, Botox can look very natural and can help lift the brows, soften lines and smooth your skin without making you look unlike yourself. In fact, you’ll just look like the happier, refreshed version of yourself!
As we age our skull is shrinking, so our skin, muscle and fat pads on our face don’t have as much support to hold things up. This is why you start to see nasolabial folds, jowls and excess skin on your neck as you age. The goal with filler is to re-volumize where the volume has been lost, to help lift and contour the face. Filler is made up of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance our skin is made up with to keep it plump and hydrated. Hyaluronic acid filler is not permanent, so it is a safe treatment option and can be dissolved if the results aren’t what you are wanting. Some of the most common areas I treat are the undereyes to brighten the eyes, cheeks to restore harmony and youth to the face since our cheek bones flatten as we age, lips to rebuild structure and hydration for a youthful glow, and jawline to lift the jowls and project the chin.
Filler is an art. It’s important not to choose your injector based off of bargain shopping. If done well, the filler will be undetectable. The goal is to change the way you age, not the way you look. In the contrary, when placed poorly it can look unnatural.
