Arkansas-based retailer once more teams up with ABC’s ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’
Bentonville, Ark. (July 21, 2009) – I.O. Metro, a specialty lifestyle furniture company based in Bentonville, Ark., just wrapped
a week of intense design work as part of ABC’s popular reality TV show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” (http://www.abc.go.com/primetime/xtremehome/index?pn=index)The retailer provided furniture and accessories to decorate several rooms in the home of an injured Dallas police officer.
ABC is providing a home makeover to Dallas police officer Carlton Marshall, who was injured after a bullet pierced his neck and damaged his spinal cord during a drug raid in 2007. Construction on the Marshall’s new home began Friday, July 10 and ended Thursday, July 16. ABC will air the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” show featuring the Marshall home in the October/November timeframe.
This is the second time I.O. Metro has partnered with the ABC show. The retailer provided home furnishings for the McCully family of Bigelow, Ark., in 2008.

Tracy Hutson (http://www.tracyhutson.com), one of the designers for ‘Extreme Makeover,’ visited the I.O. Metro store in Dallas last week to make selections for the family’s new great room and master bedroom suite. The furniture was picked up late last week, just in time for the big reveal to the Marshall family.
“I sincerely hope the Marshalls are pleased with their new furnishings. I.O. Metro is committed to fulfilling their basic furnishing needs, but we also want them to be comfortable and happy in their new surroundings,” Howard said.
“Extreme Makeover” airs at 7 p.m. Sundays on ABC. The broadcast date for the episode about the Marshalls has not been determined.
