Breast cancer awareness holds a special place to Arkansas Razorback head football coach Bret Bielema, whose mom is a two time breast cancer survivor. So it only makes sense that he partnered with Komen Ozark to create Football 101, an interactive introduction to the fundamentals of college football.

“I think a lot of times because I’m a football coach and because of my profession a lot of people think I drive my strength from the men I’ve been around in my life. I would say because of the trials and tribulations I’ve seen my mother go through in her battle with breast cancer, she’s probably the toughest person I’ve even been around. It’s something I’ve drawn from on a daily basis,” coach Bielema told KNWA’s Neile Jones.

Since being created in 2014, Football 101 has allowed women the unique opportunity to tour the Arkansas Razorback football facilities, meet the coaching staff and learn of coach Bielema’s personal passion to support Susan G. Komen.

This year’s Football 101 will include a VIP after party at Bordinos in Fayetteville. Purchase tickets and learn more about this women-only event here.
