SARAH HOOD
Vice President, Account Leadership, Saatchi & Saatchi X
Sarah Hood grew up as an “Army brat,” moving often and never having a simple answer to the question, “Where are you from?” But for the last 25 years, Fayetteville has been home — something her younger self would never have believed. She shares life with her husband, Jeff, and their son, Colt. At heart, Sarah is a storyteller — through writing, photography or simply noticing the small details that make life meaningful. She’s also a proud sports mom, happiest on the sidelines, cheering and soaking it all in.
Education:
B.S. Marketing Management, University of Arkansas
When did you know what you wanted to do?
College. I started out in accounting, but I knew after my first marketing class that I’d found my people.
Have you stayed on a straight path to your career goal?
More or less. I have experience in different slices of agency life: shopper marketing, public relations, branding and executive communications.
Best part of your job:
I am a relationship girl. And a problem-solver. This job is the perfect combination of those two things, and I love the challenge.
What do you do for fun? Any hobbies?
Having hobbies is my hobby. Sports photography, travel, writing and hiking.
Personal Mantra:
It’s a quote from the movie “American Beauty.” “It’s a great thing when you realize you still have the ability to surprise yourself.”
How do you stay motivated?
I reset by being outside — on a sideline, behind my camera or on a hike. Movement and fresh air clear my head.
What’s the best trait you got from your parents?
A sense of service. Both of my parents were in the military, but beyond that — they were the parents who were always volunteering for things at my school and in our church. They were always taking care of little things and big things — and using their skills in ways that contributed. As I got older, I really appreciated that I had grown up with such a strong understanding of what service looks like. I hope I’m doing that for my own son.
Where’s the coolest place you’ve ever been?
Such a hard question for a traveler! I love it all! But a recent favorite is Tokyo. I wasn’t ready to love Tokyo like I did. What an incredible city. And I’m now ruined for good sushi forever.
What superpower would you want?
Teleportation — I’d skip airports and see the world in a heartbeat.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
“9 to 5.” Can’t go wrong with Dolly.
