Have you stayed on a straight path to your career goal?
I started my Walmart journey at 16, and it’s been a continuous path of learning and growth ever since. Having the chance to work in many different parts of the business has really helped shape my career.

Best part of your job:
The people — our associates, members and customers — are the best part. It’s inspiring to see the teamwork that brings our mission to life.

First big break:
When I was invited to join the store planning division just as we started our Supercenter expansion. I was able to get experience across the United States and four other countries as we were expanding internationally.

Quality you admire most in others:
Honesty. Loyalty is a close second.

If you won the lottery, what cause/organization would you support?
EverHope, the new name for the Northwest Arkansas Children’s Shelter

Best advice you’ve ever received:
“Never question your wife’s judgment — look at who she married.” My grandfather gave me that quote; he laminated it and glued it to a refrigerator magnet. I’ll have had it for 30 years this May.

Do you still seek out mentors or mentees?
Yes. When I became a Walmart officer, I made a personal commitment to teaching and developing emerging talent across the organization. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of my role — helping people reach their goals and aspirations.

What is your go-to karaoke song?
Lehrs should never sing in public … but if forced, it would be “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” by The Rolling Stones.
