Northwest Arkansas (November 19th, 2009) Northwest Arkansas Women’s Resources, Inc. (dba: Loving Choices Pregnancy Center of NWA) announced today being awarded with a $49,756 grant from Blue & You Foundation for a Healthier Arkansas. The grant will be used to expand the current Sexual Transmitted Disease testing program at Loving Choices by adding two major tests to the STD program; Trichomoniasis and Genital Herpes.

The grant covers funding for testing, lab processing and medication for treatment of the diseases for 500 at-risk women in Benton and Washington Counties. Loving Choices presently test for four of the major STD’s; Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and HIV/AIDS. Since the STD program began at Loving Choices in June of 2009 the center has tested 87 clients.

“We are honored to be a recipient of this grant. Our STD testing program is a wonderful way to serve our clients and meet their needs. With this grant we can expand our program and offer more excellent care,” stated Caroline Rhoads, Executive Director of
Loving Choices.
