Interacting with children and parents everyday, Brooks Coatney enjoys providing high-quality educational services for families in Northwest Arkansas. Brooks is the on-site owner of The Goddard School in Fayetteville, which opened in October 2017.

Before becoming the on-site owner of The Goddard School, Brooks worked as a teacher and football coach at many Arkansas high schools. His passion for education is evident, and that’s why he and the faculty at The Goddard School prioritize offering top-tier services for early childhood learning and development. He says the staff “truly want to be great for our students.” In 1988, entrepreneur Anthony A. Martino established The Goddard School preschool franchise to deliver a high-quality, play-based learning program to families all over the United States. Since then, The Goddard School has grown into an institution that parents and families trust, reaching more than 65,000 students in more than 500 schools in 37 states.

Brooks says he and his wife really struggled to find somewhere to take their children to school when they moved to Northwest Arkansas four years ago.

“Most places that we like had a pretty long waiting list. I was very attracted to Goddard because of their model of having an on-site owner. This was something that is not very common in this area, and I think it makes a difference.”

The Goddard School in Fayetteville was the first one in Arkansas, recently celebrating its second birthday. A second Arkansas location will open in Rogers in January 2020. (Stay tuned for a blog on The Goddard School in Rogers soon!)

Brooks is originally from Greenwood and currently lives in Fayetteville with his wife of 15 years, Amie, and their four young children – Cruz, Cali, Crosby and Campbell. Amie is a pharmacist, but has recently been spending her time at home taking care of their children since adopting their youngest daughter, Campbell, from Ethiopia in February 2018.

Brooks loves spending time with his family and watching his kids participate in their various activities. When he doesn’t have his hands full with his kids and work, Brooks also likes to squeeze in a few rounds of golf.
