Jennifer Necessary serves the ALS community with her whole heart.

Jennifer is the executive director of the ALS Association – Arkansas Chapter, Inc. She has been with the association for 5.5 years, and she says her role as executive director is to compassionately serve the people and families living with ALS, raise funds, educate, lead and drive the mission. The organization’s mission is: lead the fight to treat and cure ALS through global research and nationwide advocacy, while also empowering people with Lou Gehrig’s Disease and their families to live fuller lives by providing them with compassionate care and support. “Our vision is to create a world without ALS,” Jennifer says.

“My work is a ministry that I’m compassionately building for our people and families living with ALS,” she adds. “Their needs are astronomical and raising awareness in our community and state is at the forefront to obtain the support needed to sustain our programs.”

The next few weeks will be pretty busy for this ALS chapter. Upcoming events include ALS Poker Tournament on Aug. 5, ALS Golf Tournament on Aug. 9, ALS Legacy Gala on Aug. 17, Walk to Defeat ALS on Aug. 24 and Brits in the Ozarks on Sept. 7.

Jennifer was born in Little Rock but moved to Northwest Arkansas when she was 5 years old, and she has lived in Bentonville for 45 years. She and her husband Jeff have a blended family of four children: Marcus Necessary (daughter-in-law, Alexis), Derek Necessary (daughter-in-law, Alexia), Keisha Osthoff (son-in-law, Bobby), and Chad Musteen. They also have five grandchildren: Walker, Will, Sonnet, Hollis and Rory.
