Fundraiser features great food from local restaurants, local band and auction

FAYETTEVILLE—Peace at Home Family Shelter will host its third annual Top Chefs & Rock Stars fundraiser. The event will take place at the Fayetteville Towne Center on Monday, December 14, from 5:30 to 10 p.m.

Great food will be available from local restaurants. Patrons can vote for their favorite foods in categories like hot or cold appetizer, hot soup, salad, hot entrée, side dish, barbeque, international or dessert. An auction of private performances by local bands hosted by Dick Trammel will take place. A silent auction will also occur. T.J. Scarlett will perform.

Tickets are $50 a piece and $500 for a table. A cash bar will be available. Proceeds will fund services for women and children who
have survived domestic violence. The event has been a big boon for the shelter’s fundraising.

“Top Chefs & Rock stars is our biggest fundraiser for the year,” said Judith Selle, CEO for Peace at Home. “People love the food, the music, and the chance to have one of their favorite bands perform at their own private show. We are so appreciative of the sponsors, restaurants, bands, and people that help put this on.”

Established in 1977, Peace at Home is Arkansas’ oldest shelter for domestic violence survivors. Their mission is to END domestic violence. They offer emergency shelter, a crisis line, advocacy, job training, and bi-lingual services. In 2007, the organization had an astonishing 78% success rate for families moving onto safe and successful lives. Last year, they had 3,936 safe nights for women and children.
