A new professional Padel franchise is coming to Northwest Arkansas.

Arkansas Matrix, the team based at Matrix Club in Lowell, is one of seven franchises in the Pro Padel League (PPL), North America’s first professional Padel league. The league’s inaugural season begins in May and concludes with a PPL CUP Championship in June.

Other teams in this professional league are located in Cancun, Los Angeles, Miami, San Diego, Toronto and Las Vegas.

During the first season, each team will consist of two male and two female players and will follow the international scoring format. The league is holding a draft March 20. The inaugural season games will be played at a neutral Florida site.

The Arkansas franchise is the first team in the United States based in the midwest region of the country, and it was purchased by Barbara Hudson, Shannon Hudson and Johan Den Toom, according to Pro Padel League’s website, https://propadelleague.com/.

Matrix Club is the premier home of Padel, pickleball, tennis and group fitness in NWA. Matrix is the ONLY club with padel courts in the state of Arkansas, according to https://www.matrixclub.com/.

The PPL’s mission is to create a premier sports league providing a national stage for the sport while generating nationwide awareness and excitement for Padel as it continues to grow across North America. For more information on the PPL, visit https://propadelleague.com/.
