Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO), the sole supplier of blood, platelets, and plasma to patients at 45 area healthcare facilities, is teaming up with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals for the 17th annual Bleed Blue Blood Drive.

The 2024 Bleed Blue Blood Drive will be held during May and June at CBCO Arkansas donor centers and mobile blood drives in Arkansas. Successful donors will receive a custom three-quarter sleeve Northwest Arkansas Naturals baseball T-shirt and TWO FREE TICKETS to an upcoming Naturals game, while supplies last.

Bleed Blue, one of CBCO’s most anticipated promotions, is held during the summer to help ensure a strong summer blood supply for local patients. “With the generous support of the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, we are thrilled to be able to offer this fun summer incentive to our valued CBCO donors again this year,” CBCO Media Relations Representative, Michelle Teter said. “Hit a homerun for local patients by taking the time to donate. A simple act of kindness today can save lives tomorrow.”

“Our 17-year partnership with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks has been instrumental in saving lives of Northwest Arkansas patients. We are proud to partner with CBCO again this year, for a two-month Bleed Blue Blood Drive to continue making a positive impact in our community,” said Northwest Arkansas Naturals Justin Cole, Vice President and General Manager.

The 17th annual Bleed Blue event is sponsored by the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 3W Magazine, Nexstar Media TV stations KNWA, KXNW and FOX 24, along with iHeart Media radio stations KIX 104, Magic 107.9, Hot Mix 101.9, and 93.3 The Eagle.

The O Negative blood supply locally is currently low. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is urging eligible donors with O negative blood to give as soon as possible.

To help avoid wait times, appointments are strongly encouraged. For more information about the event and to schedule an appointment, go online https://www.cbco.org/baseball/ or call 417-227-5006.

On behalf of local hospital patients, CBCO thanks blood donors from across the region for giving life to your community.
