BITE NW Arkansas is a two-day food festival that began in 2015 as an extension of the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G. BITE gives the community a chance to bond over the region’s best cuisines, restaurants and chefs, and experience an unparalleled culinary experience in their own backyard.
With General Mills’ reputation of providing high quality food and strong community support, it only makes sense that the company is a presenting sponsor of BITE.
We sat down with General Mills’ Chaney Youngblood to find out the who, what, where for this year’s BITE.
Who is General Mills hoping attends BITE?
Everyone! We love to support our community and help bring fun events to get our friends and colleagues engaged with all that NWA can offer.
What is your ultimate goal for General Mills at this year’s BITE?
One of our company focuses is on strengthening hometown communities. Supporting the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G and BITE is just one of the many ways we can live out that mission.
Where did the idea of General Mills presenting BITE originate?
The team wanted to stay involved in the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship presented by P&G and all of the excitement and benefit to our local area. As we looked across the week and all the activities, we knew BITE was the right place for us. Food and time with our family and friends – it was a perfect fit!
Why is General Mills playing a bigger role in BITE?
General Mills’ purpose is to serve the world by making food people love. BITE is all about supporting local businesses centered on food. We thought this was a great way for us to give back to the community and tie into our food background.
Can you share one surprise that BITE attendees will be wowed to see?
If you haven’t had the chance to attend before, I highly recommend coming out to see the great glimpse into the food scene developing in our region. Chefs from restaurants around town will be preparing top dishes for everyone to enjoy!
